Balancing Storage and Space in Your Tiny Bathroom

Posted November 5, 2019

When it comes to tiny bathrooms, your challenge is to add enough storage without overcrowding the space. At A2 Kitchens & Joinery, our team are experts in designing and installing solutions to fit your space and lifestyle. Read on for some clever tips, and as always – get in touch to start your design process today.

1. Start with the right design

If you’re building from scratch, choosing where your plumbing will go is an essential first step to getting your bathroom layout right. If you’re renovating, consider any limitations in layout so you know what you’re working with.

The key to nailing your layout in a small space is to choose the items you value the most. Is a big bath essential? Or would a double basin and large vanity be of better use to you? When space is an issue, invest your space in the things that are most useful to you.

Once you’ve got your floorplan sorted, it’s time for joinery!

2. Figure out your cabinetry

This is where we come in. We work with our clients to design a custom joinery solution; whether that’s shelving, drawers, cupboards or a combination of all three.

Consider how you use your current bathroom space – if the back of your shelves is gathering dust, perhaps drawers will better suit you. If you love having your fragrances on display, consider a floating shelf.

3. Choose your finishes

There are a number of tricks you can use to create the illusion of more space. Anything that will create or reflect light is your friend here; that means windows, gloss tiles and finishes, glass shower screens and white/light colours.

At A2 Kitchens & Joinery, we work with our clients to select cabinetry finishes that suit their space. So if you’re unsure, chat to our friendly team and see what we can do with your space. Our showroom is open by appointment – get in touch to book your appointment today!
