Hi Rebecca, Thankyou very much for this beautifully designed room. We loved every concept – especially the art. Amazing!!! We have clocked up 1600kms riding around beautiful Tassie on our Harley, so to find this little piece of heaven at the end of our long day was just Great.
What a lovely place! Totally relaxing. I spent time in the garden, enjoyed drawing, loved playing the Beatles on the record player. Calm, peaceful surroundings help to restore the soul! The bath was divine & I enjoyed opening the sliding door and being immersed in the magnolia tree. I totally relaxed. Thankyou.
Our time in the Matisse was wonderful! Such a charming accommodation and town, and a delicious breakfast, thank you!!
“I stayed in la petite chambre Matisse, intrigued by the idea of art, design and accommodation, not knowing quite what to expect. What I found was a unique experience of art and music and beauty and the feeling of a bygone era in a most contemporary way. The interpretation of history and art is exquisitely presented. The welcome and service was warm though not intrusive, and the attention to detail and the modern layouts including the luxury of apple TV music and movies, the glass and stainless steel bathroom with underfloor heating…I could easily get used to this beauty and space. Thankyou Rebecca and Jack for sharing and making this historic home and space with like minded people. Good Luck.”
a hot bath under the moon waking up in a bright white room good coffee Bowie in the morning!
Dear Rebecca & Jack, We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your beautiful Magnolia suite – it has been a highlight of our stay in Launceston. Thankyou for sharing your creativity and vision through your wonderful accommodation and attention to detail.
In love with the place!!! Thanks so much
Thankyou for such a wonderful stay! We enjoyed a very relaxing break in beautiful surrounds, and would love to return on our next visit to Launceston.
“Launceston’s most refined accommodation!” This collection of four suites in Launceston’s CBD by far out shines all other options. If you want luxury, comfort and above all a unique artistic approach then you will be doing yourself an absolute favour by choosing the Hatherley Birrell Collection. Whatever your specific requirements there is an option to suit. Location wise all four suites are approximately 15 minutes walk from the CBD or 5 minutes by car. I had the pleasure of staying in the Grand Ballroom suite and I was blown away by all the regal original fixtures of yesteryear but with all the modern comforts to create a haven of absolute relaxation and style. The ‘no reception’ concept is just fantastic. Very discreet and kind of James Bond Esque as you drive into the driveway and enter your unique code, the gate responds by swinging dramatically open to allow you to pass through and swiftly shuts again ensuring your absolute privacy amongst the gardens of the old Hatherley Mansion. Breakfast is awaiting you in the fridge in the morning with treats from local providore Alps and Amici. I have to say it was the best continental breakfast ever and it was my first port of call after checking out to go and purchase some of that ‘to die for’ muesli and yoghurt! If you are used to a more ‘up market’ style of travel and are struggling to find anything online in Launceston. Book Hatherley. I cannot recommend it highly enough!
Thankyou so much for the last minute accommodation! Breakfast was divine and the room is incredible! 5 star service and an exquisite end to our first weekend away together. Thanks again.
